Apple iAnywhere - One Device to Rule Them All

Have you noticed how fast the computing power of mobile devices increase? Modern smartphones are more powerful than desktop computers just a couple of years ago. What if there were one mobile device that would act as a mobile phone and a desktop computer?

That's precisely what analyst Mark Moskowitz thinks Apple might be working on. Such a platform was even dubbed as iAnywhere.

Theoretically, this is quite possible. As a matter of fact, this is a direction that Microsoft is trying to pursue. So, it is quite possible that folks in Cupertino are working on the similar system.

As a side effect, this would give considerable boost to Apple on the side of innovation. As you might be aware, key shareholders at Apple are not very satisfied with the company's recent stagnation on the innovation arena.

Above mentioned is just a hypothesis. All we have to do is just wait and see if the unified Apple OS comes to reality.

Apple Might Launch Gold iPads Soon and a 12.9 Inch Model Too

According to the news from Bloomberg, Apple is about to launch a gold iPad. The 9.7 inch iPad in Gold variant shall hit the market by the end of this month. If you own a gold iPhone, you can now match it with the gold iPad.

More interesting is the news about the larger version of iPad. According to the same sources, Apple is about to unveil as 12.9 inch iPad. The device most likely will miss this holiday season and shall be officially available sometime next year.

The gold versions of the devices might not appeal your taste. However, the larger iPad is certainly something more interesting, at least for us.

Got Bluetooth Problems? Blame iOS8

More and more users report Bluetooth problems. The problem is significant if you used your iPhone with your car Bluetooth system.

Based on the information available on Apple forums, many new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices are affected, as well as previous models with an OS update.

Most frequent symptoms are refused or failed pairs or no audio playing even after a successful pair. Disconnects of already paired devices are also common.

Unfortunately, the Bluetooth problem is one of the many problems that have been literally pouring in since Apple started rolling out the iOS8 update.

What is your experience? Have you been affected by the update adversely? Have your say.

Your iPhone May Reboot Because of an iOS Bug in the Messages App

Some users have reported iPhone restarts after receiving a certain text. It is still not confirmed but it seems there's a bug that causes Messages to crash.

The information has started circulating on Twitter and it seems that hundreds of iPhone users are affected but this alleged bug in iOS.

Stay tuned as we try to find out more details about this and more importantly if, how and when this can be fixed.

Native Apps for Apple Watch Coming this Fall

If you own Apple Watch then we have some good news for you. According to Apple, developers will be able to start developing native apps for Apple Watch from this fall. Until now developers can only customize iPhone apps for Apple Watch. However, with the new SDK (that is Software Development Kit) developers can create apps directly for the wearable gadget.

This shall have a huge implication on the usefulness and usability of Apple Watch. Another advantage is that the native apps shall at least theoretically decrease dependence on iPhone and make Apple Watch a more "stand-alone" device.

This information was revealed by Apple's Vice President of Operations Jeff Williams at Re/code's Code Conference in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Mr. Williams was pressed to reveal sales figures for Apple Watch. However the only information given was that sales were "fantastic".

The native Apple Watch app SDK will be previewed at WWDC. We will be covering the details as they happen. Stay tuned.

iOS 9 Beta 5 On iPhone 6: Nearing The Home Stretch

As September draws ever nearer, so does the expected release date of Apple’s new iPhones and long with them iOS 9. It’s a tried and tested pattern for Apple to follow, with new iPhones bringing with them a big new release of iOS and this time is no different. Up to the ninth iteration, iOS is now maturing with features being added and existing ones being tweaked. If you own an iPad or an iPhone, then iOS 9 is going to be of big interest to you.
As with all of Apple’s big software releases, iOS 9 is currently in the midst of a beta program, with developers and some of the general public getting the opportunity to test the software as it moves through the development process. I’ve been testing iOS 9 myself since its first beta release, and it’s fair to say that this iteration is Apple’s best. We’ve already covered the individual changes that have arrived in this fifth beta release, and I expect to see a few more before the final version is ready for prime time.
iOS-9-beta-5
As with all beta programs, iOS 9 has seen its fair share of show stopping bugs, and with iOS 9 beta 5 these appear to have been ironed out. Performance seems to have improved significantly in this release compared to beta 4. Battery life is as stable as iOS 8 has been for me, and I’ve yet to experience any of the network connectivity dropouts that plagued earlier releases of the beta. My iPhone 6 hasn’t needed any restarts in general either, which is streets ahead of where iOS 9 beta 3 and beta 4 was. It’s more stable, it’s more responsive and as lofty as it may sound, it feels less…..beta. If it wasn’t for some apps crashing on launch – not Apple’s fault, not the app’s developer’s fault, just a fact of beta life – then you could almost be forgiven for thinking this is a shipping version of iOS.
Having used iOS 9 beta 5 for the weekend, it is clear that Apple is starting to lock things down before new iPhones and of course iOS 9 itself arrive in September. I’d expect to see at least two new beta releases before the final version is ready, but if the last few days are anything to go by then Apple is already starting to add some polish to the software that we will all be using come late-September time.

Windows 10 Product Key And Activation: How To Find It And How It Works

Here’s everything you need to know about how to find your Windows 10 product key and how activation works on free upgraded versus new retail copies of Windows 10.
Whether you used Microsoft’s free Windows 10 upgrade offer or got a new license off retail, MSDN and the likes, here’s what you need to know about Windows 10 product keys and activation process.
Windows 10 product key
Windows 10 free upgrade product key and activation:
If you upgraded your PC to Windows 10 from a genuine copy of either Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 7, your license will be tied to the hardware you upgrade on, not your Microsoft account, and you won’t get any new product key either. You can verify this using any third-party product key fetching software like ProduKey or The Ultimate PID Checker. They will show you generic product keys like TX9XD-98N7V-6WMQ6-BX7FG-H8Q99 for Windows 10 Home and VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T for Windows 10 Pro edition.
So what if you want to clean install Windows 10 on the same machine? Yes you can do that by downloading an ISO file, turning it into a USB drive or DVD media and then running the setup for clean install. During install, when Windows setup asks you for product key, simply skip the step and let it complete the installation. Once Windows 10 clean install is complete, your copy of Windows will activate automatically as soon as you connect to Internet. This is because Microsoft knows you clean installed on the same hardware. You can always check your activation status from either Settings (WinKey+I) > Update & security > Activation:
windows 10 activation
or from Control Panel > System and Security > System:
Windows 10 system
Now if down the road you decide to change the hardware, you will need to call Microsoft support, inform them about the change to get your copy activated.
The TL;DR version of this is: If you used Windows 10 free upgrade option, you won’t get a unique product key. Your license will be tied to the hardware you upgraded Windows 10 on, not your Microsoft account. Clean installs will activate automatically as long as they are done on the same hardware.
Windows 10 retail product key and activation:
If you bought retail license of Windows 10, or got a product key either from MSDN, DreamSpark, TechNet and the likes, you obviously have a unique product key that you can enter in Windows setup during clean installations. In case you lose this number, you can use third-party softwares like ProduKey (download from here) to find it on an existing installation.
